Provide the exact message you receive when you try to add the network printer.after going to the add a printer screen the laptop searches for the printer and can not find it. I then click on find a printer by name or TCP/IP address. I type in computer name and printer name. laptop starts connecting to printer. after a few minutes a box pops up that states "windows couldn't connect to printer. check the printer name and try again. if this is a network printer, make sure that the printer is turned on, and that the printer address is correct". the computer that laptop is trying to connect to all boxes are checked to share printer. How are both the computer connected? main PC is connected to a d-link router. laptop is wireless. i should point out that main computer PC see all files on laptop and can access the files. laptop only sees icons, but can not open files to read them.Is it Wired or wireless network?see aboveIs the computer on homegroup? yes and both show correct home group.I have looked at the above links and have done everything like they say.
