PC pausing every few minutes?
hears one for you, it seems like my PC keeps stuttering if that makes sence, it like pauses every minute or two, I have tried loads of things, can someone think why its doing this, it also seems like it happens when i'm not connected to a network? thanks1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi Tbough, · Did you make any changes to the computer before this issue started? You may boot to the desktop in safe mode and check if it behaves the same way and post back the result.To boot to the desktop in safe mode keep tapping F8 key during restart. Once you see the option to boot in safe mode with networking select it and press enter. If it works fine in safe mode, you may try to put the computer in a Clean boot state and try to burn the disc and check if it works fine. Access the link below and follow the steps to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows XP.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353 If your issue is resolved after performing Clean Boot, then follow the steps mentioned in the following KB article to narrow down the exact source. Also, see the section on how return your computer to a Normal startup mode by following the steps under “Reset the computer to start as usual” and set it to Normal Startup. Hope this helps.
