PC not running properly after System32 error
A few months ago I had this error:‘Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM’ I managed to save the hard drive content and have successfully re-installed Windows XP. Now all applications particularly the internet are running slowly. I am unable to watch any form of movies (DVD’s cannot be read despite re-installing Dell Media Suite) and my laptop crashes when too many applications run at the same time. I regularly use CCleaner and Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner. CCleaner always find errors, particularly .dll ones. I am unsure as to what is wrong with my laptop – is it Malware or registry errors? How can I improve the performance of my PC - do I need to take it to a specialist? I use the following: Vostro™ 1700 NotebookIntel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T8300 (2.40 GHz, 3 MB L2 cache, 800 MHz FSB)3072MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (1x1024 + 1x2048 MB)Genuine Windows® XP Professional - EnglishAvast Anti-virus Some expert advice would be much appreciated...Thank you!1 person needs an answerI do too
