Click Outbox in the list of folders, click the bad message, and delete it.

Steve - thanks so much.Boy do I feel illiterate at the moment lol. Sad thing is that I am not.I thank you very much. I have seen this question asked elsewhere and the answer was so complicated. They actually told the person to uninstall outlook. No way I was going there.

Hi...I hope you got the answer to your problem...I am having the same problem... I emptied the Out Box but that didn't help and I also deleted the incorrect e-mail address from my address book.....the address was correct...but must have been case sensitive...which I thought Odd........E. Connell Email removed for privacy...your reply would most certainly be appreciated....tks.....I now did what Steve said to do...when I right click on the Out Box...the window shows only Open Find New Folder (delete and rename...obscured) and then Properties. Since the Out Box has been empty since the beginning....what can I do next...Thank you

Hi Steve, I have a similar problem but cannot delete my outbound message which then makes my system stop responding. I was told to delete the account in my tools and then set it up again, but I just cannot delete the email. AFter following the advise the message "1 or more messages in your outbox do not have a valid account specified. Would you like to use your default account to send these messages? I have tried yes and no but still am unable to delete this outgoing message. Any help? Many thanks

In Internet Explorer go to File | Work Offline. Then open OE and go to the outbox and delete the message. Then go back to File | Work Online. If that doesn't work, then with OE closed, delete the outbox.dbx file (hidden) and then when OE opens it will create a new and empty one. steve <JuneDicks> wrote in message news:Email removed for privacy...Hi Steve, I have a similar problem but cannot delete my outbound message which then makes my system stop responding. Hi Steve, boy am I frustrated. I tried both things and I am still not able to delete this file. It allowed me to delete a message that I tried to send after but the original just makes outlook stop responding. Even deleting outbox.dbx has not helped.

Do you have more than one Identity? Maybe you deleted the wrong outbox.dbx file. Search for *.dbx and include hidden files and folders in the Advanced search properties and see if you can find another copy of the outbox.dbx file. If that has been deleted then OE can't have an unsent message. steve <JuneDicks> wrote in message news:Email removed for privacy...Hi Steve, boy am I frustrated.
