Outlook Express problems,(addressbook, Open mail, etc)
Hi, I have a strange issue with my outlook express. The program itself opens ok, it synchronize mail with the servers and so on. If you click on a mail in the top part of the window you can see the content underneath. Now, this is my problem, I can't doubleclick on a mail to open it, I can't send a mail or forward it. I can't open the addressbook. I get different messages " it was not possible to open the addressbook, it might not be correctly installed", "The message couldn't be opend, an error has occured", "It was not possible to load the addressbook due to that Outlook Express is not correctly configured. Reinstall Outlook Express" and so on. I have used this mail program for many years and the problem came from one day to the other. I have tried to uninstall/reinstall the program from the control panel, I did a repair on XP from installation but it is still the same, is there anybody that have any idea ( I know that Outlook Express is and old program but it works fine for my needs).regards Nils1 person got this answerI do too

First, try a new identity and see if that helps. You may have a damaged identity especially if it is the default Main Identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create a new one and test it. If all is well, you can import your messages and Address Book from the old identity and delete it. Note: Do not use the word Main in the name of the new identity. Something is screwed up with your address book. It could be any of several specific problems, which include: - corrupted WAB file - corrupted or mismatched DLL files for the address book - having OE set to use the Outlook98/2000+ contacts instead of the WABfile and there is something wrong at the Outlook end For specifics, take a look at: Err Msg: The Message Could Not Be Sent. Hi BruceThanks for the help, it looks like the problem was with the address book. I first restored the wab32.dll file without any success and then I replaced the wab-file with an old one that I had a backup of and at the moment everything looks OK.thanks again / Nils
