Outlook Express not getting or sending e-mails to provider
Can get e-mails from main web provider, but can't get or send e-mails using Outlook Express 6 with the same internet provider. Checked all settings saved from recent past, and they have not changed. Have proper POP3 and SMTP settings including the ports. Provider thinks the Outlook Express program has been corrupted, and wants to issue new e-mail account. Using Windows XP Proffessional with service pack 3, all windows updates are current.

Check for antivirus software interference which is well-known in OE. Seewww.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 It might also help to go to File | Identities and setup a new Identity to give a fresh, uncorrupt message store and registry hive and then add your account and see if that works then. steve <Achibis> wrote in message news:Email removed for privacy...Can get e-mails from main web provider, but can't get or send e-mails using Outlook Express 6 with the same internet provider.
