Outlook Express not connecting with server
I am using a brand new XP Pro, SP3 & IE8. The Outlook Express after setting it up gives me error below. I have contacted CenturyLink twice and both techs say that to contact Microsoft as this is a problem on their end. Everything is set up exactly as it should be. In searching for an answer it seems a large amount of people are having this problem. I also have found 2 dll's are missing also for OE. This is a business computer and I am reluctant to mess with the registry. Can someone help me out here.The host 'SMPT.embarqmail.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'pop3.embarqmail.com', Server: 'SMPT.embarqmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 11004, Error Number: 0x800CCC0DOE 1 person needs an answerI do too

Your account settings are wrong. Change SMPT to SMTP. Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]
