Has this account worked until recently? If it has never worked, post back. If it has worked, disable e-mail scanning. See the note at the bottom. You likely will need to do this with Trend-Micro.Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that eats up CPUs, slows down sending and receiving, and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for loss of messages. Your up-to-date A/V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more, see:http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your emailhttp://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htmNote that for many AV programs, it may be necessary to uninstall the program and reinstall in Custom Mode and uncheck e-mail scanning when the option is offered. My e-mail scanning in my anti-virus is shut off already. But was TM installed without it, or was it just shut off?Close all programs except OE. Completely shut down TM and send a message to yourself. Does it go? If yes, then you need to uninstall TM and reinstall it without e-mail scanning period.Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

It was installed without it and when i shut it down i still get the error. I do have a router. Do you think that is interfering with outlook? You're modem and router were going to be next on my list. Try resetting both. If they don't have reset buttons, just unplug for about 15 seconds and plug back in. Do the router first and then the modem. If that doesn't help, can you bypass the router at least for testing purposes? Some other things to look at.How to troubleshoot error messages that you receive when try to send and receive e-mail in Outlook and in Outlook Expresshttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;813514&Product=oex You might want to check with RR tech support. They can verify if their server can "see" your modem. Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA
