Outlook Express Address Book problems
I'm having a problem in Windows XP Outlook Express, specifically with the Address Book. I have deleted the Main Identity's Contacts and all of the folders under it. I have all of the email folders (Inbox, etc.), it's the address folders that are completely missing. Now I've been able to restore email addresses to the Contacts folder but the option under File to add a Folder is gone. How can I restore the Folders and/or the option to add New Folders?1 person needs an answerI do too

You have two problems.A: If you open the Address Book and under File there is no New Folder option, you may well have a damaged identity especially if it is the default Main Identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create a new one and test it. If all is well, you can import your messages and Address Book from the old identity and delete it.Note: Do not use the word Main in the name of the new identity.B: Folders and groups neither import nor export. I established a new identity and imported the Address Book. The new book also does not allow me to create a folder. Has the Outlook Express program changed recently to delete that option? (And thank you for the help. I appreciate it.)

You have the Address Book open and click File. You don't have a New Folder option? Does Ctrl+R work? I honestly have no idea. This is the first time I have seen this.In your first post: I have deleted the Main Identity's Contacts and all of the folders under it. Explain why you deleted the contacts and did you export them first?Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]
