In OE: Tools | Accounts | Mail Account | General Tab. What is entered in the Name Field is what will show in the From Field when the mail is received. Normally, one would just want their name entered there.Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

I've opened that, my name is showing where it should. There is a "mail account" above that that has my outgoing mail server info in it, that is being attached to all outgoing mail.

I'm not sure I understand. By 'above that', do you mean there are two accounts listed in Tools | Accounts? If you only have one account, there should be only one located there. What is "all the outgoing mail server info"? More than your name and or e-mail address? What other info exactly is it showing?Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

In the very first box is your account name. In the Name box, your Display Name. In the E-mail Address box, your e-mail address. If that is what you are seeing, that is normal. If you send a message to yourself, what does it show in the From field? That should only be what is in the Name box mentioned above. What is the exact info are you seeing when you send a message to yourself, and exactly where in the e-mail message do you see it?P.S. Is this a POP3 account?Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

I'm running in circles and repeating myself here, and I don't have time for it. I have given all info I can as clearly as I can, and said it's a pop3 account. What I need is an answer as to how to stop the pop3 info from going into the address line of an email on sending it.

Remove the account. Close and open OE and add the account back correctly. And never once did you say it was a POP3 account.Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

I've removed the account 4 times in the last 2 hours and set it up again, the pop info is still showing in all sent emails.I would hazard a guess, but may be wrong, but are not all outlook accounts pop3.?

Outlook Express is just a simple e-mail client. You could be using, for example AOL, which is an IMAP account.Who is your mail server? (What is after the @ in your address.I have never seen what you are describing here happen, and I've been doing OE for a long time. Set up a new identity and see if the problem persists.File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create a new one and test it. If all is well, you can import your messages and Address Book from the old identity and delete it.Note: Do not use the word Main in the name of the new identity. How to Create and Use Identities in Outlook Expresshttp://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=209169An Outlook Express basic repair kithttp://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/community/columns/oerepair.mspx#EHH Other than that, the only thing else that comes to mind is your AV program, especially if it has e-mail scanning enabled. Send a quick test e-mail with the AV disabled and see if that makes a difference.Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA
