Smay15, There is no way to share the Outlook Express files and have 2 computers access them at the same time. Instead, try leaving a copy of the message on the server. POP3 servers by default store e-mail on the server only until you download them into your mail client. As soon as a message is downloaded, the client tells the server the message has been received and the server copy should be deleted. Outlook Express follows this default behavior, but also gives you the option to "leave a copy of messages on server". 1. On the Outlook Express Tools menu, click Accounts. 2. Click the Mail tab, and then double-click your e-mail account. 3. Click the Advanced tab. 4. Check the box labeled "Leave a copy of messages on server." Doing this activates two clean-up options: • If desired, check the box to "Remove from server after 5 days." You may change this to any number between 1 and 100. • If desired, check the box to "Remove from server when deleted from ‘Deleted Items.'" Be careful using this option! Most ISPs limit the size of your POP3 mailbox. Saving messages on the server can cause your mailbox to become full very quickly, and so you might not receive important messages until you delete the server copies. I'd recommend contacting the company that provides your POP3 e-mail service and see if they offer IMAP. IMAP servers store your mail permanently on the server. Outlook Express can also store copies on your own computer, so that your local copy is an exact mirror of whatever is on the server. When you delete an e-mail in an IMAP account, you are deleting both the local copy and the server copy. To prevent accidental deletions, IMAP servers do not totally delete a message until you issue a Purge command (Purge Deleted Items on the Edit menu, or the Purge toolbar button). IMAP also has a command to Undelete a message (also found on the Edit menu). The main advantage of IMAP over POP3 is that, since all messages are on the server, you can access all your mail from any computer with an Internet connection. You can also create subfolders on the server (and in your local Outlook Express account) to better organize your mail. Hope this helps! Thank you so much. This is very helpful. I changed my Outlook settings on both computers to not delete messages off the server so I can receive them on either computer. Now I'll just import my contact list onto the laptop and will be able to do most of what I need there. Thanks again.
