Outlook Express 6 client unable to Receive Incoming mail from interoffice group. XP Pro SP3
Friends this problem is unlike any I have seen. This is a small office situation where every user has a desktop or laptop running Windows XP Pro SP3 with either IE8 or IE7, Outlook Express 6 and a variety of business apps. All users utilize Email addresses from the ISP domain [grande]. Recently two of the most frequent collaboraters noticed that they could not receive [in OE6 Inbox] mail from the other. Mail could be 'Sent' successfully, but not received visibly in the inbox of the recipient. The same issue has since "spread", with one exception, to every user in the office [and they all use the same domain/isp for their email identity/address]. The one exception is a user who is using Windows XP Home Edition, SP2 [not 3] on an HP laptop. Checking the Mail Server at the ISP, both outgoing and incoming mails are correctly logged, no errors. Using webmail at the ISP portal, one can see the incoming measures happily sitting in that inbox [assuming OE6 Option is activated to "Leave Copy On Server"]. Still, all attempts to fetch the incoming message safely to the Client fail, even in Safe Mode, even after setting up alternate User in Win XP, and clean Account in Clean OE6 !! Problem persists. All other Incoming Mail, so far as I can determine, arrives unmolested in the OE6 Client Inbox. Security measures have been stopped, the "Block Sender" list is clean, and yet the problem persists. I am wondering if a recent KB update from MS may have caused this little wrinkle but I do not know why it would only affect this small number of users. Any way to mark these addresses as "safe all the time" or somesuch? Any other clues? ALL HELP gladly received!!!1 person needs an answerI do too

Enable diagnostic logging and see what's happening during the send/receive. Tools>Options>Other>Advanced Options>Enable logging (troubleshooting). See what POP commands and responses OE and the server are sending to each other. The log should be in %temp%Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]

All other Incoming Mail, so far as I can determine, arrives unmolested in the OE6 Client Inbox. Security measures have been stopped, the "Block Sender" list is clean, and yet the problem persists.I am wondering if a recent KB update from MS may have caused this little wrinkle but I do not know why it would only affect this small number of users.Any way to mark these addresses as "safe all the time" or somesuch? Any other clues? ALL HELP gladly received!!!Hi Techwest,Question: When the co-workers are sending Emails to each other, is it going outside of the company and coming back in, or it is going to a Server in the office and being sorted there?Remember that localhost with more than one Email Account can have different Email Passwords. Also if you set up an Email Account for localhost for an outside Email Account, that Email Programs, needs the entire Email Address and password.Ex.Account: Email removed for privacyPassword: password or ******** thecreator
