How do I recover OE6 folders in a new install of XP and OE on a replacement drive? The folders cannot simply be copied from the old drive, so the registry must be involved. I've got the old folders copied to the new drive, but how to I get them into the new OE6 installation so I can read them?

Did you save the entire OE store folder including Folders.dbx? If so, you can put that folder on the new Desktop and from OE, Import from an OE store directory. If you saved individual dbx files, see this. How to restore individual dbx fileshttp://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#imp1 Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]

As Bruce indicated, copy the entire directory to the Desktop of the other machine. Then make sure the files are not read only. Then go to File | Import | Messages in OE and choose to import from a directory and not an Identity and point to that directory. Also see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx for the registry keys involved, but its probably too late to recover those. steve "sully141" wrote in message news:4459ec89-d119-4fa3-9934-c3730ccb3e20...How do I recover OE6 folders in a new install of XP and OE on a replacement drive?
