Outlook 2010 Search in Windows 7
Hi All,
I have someone with Outlook 2010 installed on a Windows 7 PC. The is a Exchange account. I happen to check the Windows Search options and see that Microsoft Outlook isn't being displayed / added as it is in this screenshot below. Would anyone know why that
would happen and how to resolve it?
Thanks,

What if you click "Modify" button, you should be able to see Outlook there and check it for indexing.Blogging about Windows for IT pros at

Thanks for your reply.
When clicking on "Modify" on my PC, this is what I am seeing. But this isn't what is shown on the other user's PC, It seems that it is able to see the mailbox here.
I noticed if I go to C:\Users\username\Searches on my PC, I see Search Connector (Microsoft Outlook) but on the users' I do not.
If I log into the users pc as me and create a mail profile, I still don't see Outlook in Windows Search.

I would recommend you to do a repair of the Office installation and see if that resolve the problem. Also, do you see any related events in Event Viewer > Applications log? Are there any Group Policies that might block Outlook from being indexed?Blogging about Windows for IT pros at

I actually did do a repair install. I will check Event Viewer and see. I don't think there would be any group policies that would block this but I can also check to make sure.
Thanks,
