Our pc administrator is no longer available to us & our family pc.The thing's we can or can't do now are very restricted, please help us fix this.
I am the owner of this laptop & when it was setup & asigned user accounts & parental control's I had my step son do it for me. He assigned himself as administrator & at that time it wasn't a problem because he was available & living here in my home. He has moved out of state now & we have not been able to download, make changes, etc. How can I fix this? I need to be administrator of my pc but since my step son used his fingerprint as his password I haven't been able to do so. I thought about backing up everything & restoring it but it won't let me do that either. Am I doing something wrong? I'm no expert at this but I'm sure there has to be a way around this problem.

This is a link about the possible methods you can proceed with to reset a User Account Password in Vista: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/102005-reset-user-account-password.html However, I recommand to you method 4 because it is simple. This is a link about how to use Vista System restore boot (Method 4): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial142.html Try to use a restore point that dates more than the day your son changed the password. If you will proceed like that, all documents saved after the mentioned date for the restore point will be lost. You can also use Method 3. Best regards.
