Opening newly installed apps on 7 64-bit
I've tried several times to install Adobe Reader 9.4 on a new Windows 7 64-bit setup. It meets all the requirements and the install finishes without any problems. However, when I try to use the application the mouse cursor is busy for a few seconds and just goes away. Nothing ever appears in task manager, no errors, or anything. I've tried installing as admin, making the user a member of the local admin group, given him full permission to the installation folder and get the same result everytime. Strangely, there is no option to run as admin when I right-click the icon, or I would have tried that. I'm leaning toward some sort of security related issue, rather than application compatibility. Anyone have any suggestions what I can try next? I've also disabled the UAC (even though I didn't think that would prove anything).

Just tried logging in with several other accounts and same thing happens on each. If I leave task manager open while opening the program, I can very briefly see the program load into memory, then disappear.

Hi, did this issue appear when you open Adobe Reader 9.4? Please login with Clean Boot to see if the same issue occurs. Also you can try reinstall Adobe Reader 9.4, or install another version of Adobe Reader(Example: Adobe Reader 9.0) for test. Hope it helps. Yes, appears on open (actually not appear). Same symptoms regardless of who I am logged in as. Reinstalled using several methods under several different user names, same thing. Haven't tried the clean boot yet, but I will.
