Hi John, First of all, please provide the exact error message you received. Meanwhile, I suspect this issue should be related to Office Outlook, since we have specified support for Microsoft Office, it is also recommended that you go to our Office Discussion Group for help. Hope this issue will be resolved soon. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT

Hi NicholasVery many thanks for your reply its good to know I am not alone!! When I open Outlook the splash screen below opens which means I cannot access anything other than OK-ing the message but then of course Outlook closes.Have run Sanpst, by searching for it and it comes back no errors found but the screen still persists? Tried going into the mail folder in control panel and removing the data file from there but it will not allow me to do so as its the default one and to be frank I dint know how to create another or indeed remove the existing one?I am going to do a disc check to see if that brings anything up but must admit I dont hold out much hope of it succeeding, info you asked for...Error message reads:"Cannot open default email foldeer. Errors have been detected in file C;\User\John\AppData\Local\Outlook\Outlook.pst. Quit all mail enabled applications then use Scanpst.exe to diagnose and repair errors in file. More information see inbox repair tools, see help".Very many thanks for your reply if you are able to assist I look forward to hearing from you shortlyJohn

Hi John, At this time, please also try the following: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 Please check if you can open the file in this environment. Considering this issue is more related to Microsoft Office Outlook, I would like to still recommend that you go to Microsoft Office Support for further investigation. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
