Open MS Project File in Internet Explorer
I am try to get Microsoft Project files to open in Project 2010 in the Internet Explorer window when opening from an internet source. I currently have Word, Excel, and PowerPoint doing this, but I am unable to find any information on what settings to change to enable this for Project, or if it is even possible. I have used the information here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927009 to resolve the problem for Word 2010, Excel 2010, and PowerPoint 2010. Is anyone aware of how or if this is even possible for Project 2010? Using: Windows 7 Ultimate, Internet Explorer 9, Project 2010, Office 2010. Thanks, Nick Umstead

This article does not apply to Office 2010. Read this one http://support.microsoft.com/kb/162059/en-us and perhaps this http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh768873.aspx Regards Milos

True the article does not apply to Office 2010, but this one (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982995) I tracked down does, and the solutions are identical. I thank you for your recommendations, but KB162059 is exactly the opposite of what I want to do and the article on Managing Projects in the Project web app does not have any bearing on opening the files in the browser. I am looking for a solution that lets me open Project files in the browser much the same as http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982995 will let me open other Office types in the browser. Thanks, Nick Umstead

Hi, Based on my research, Im afraid that your request may not be archived easily. If you want to archive this, you may need Project Server and use Project Web App. Due to it is Microsoft Project related, it is recommended to ask the question in Project Professional Forums or browse Project Community Forums for help. Hope this helps. Jeremy Wu TechNet Community Support
