OneDrive (Skydrive) icon keeps blinking. (Contains GIF anim. as proof)

Check out this GIF I captured:

I move the cursor on and off the icon to show the different states of the application. The icon NEVER stops blinking like this.

I have no idea what to do. The blinking is much faster "IRL&

Hi,

When did this issue begin? Did you get any update before this thing?

It seems to be normal, Onedrive keeps on looking for changes and syncing.

Did you find any event in Event view? Is there any syncing issue on your Onedrive now?

Please post back more information.

I have found no issues. It seems to be purely "cosmetic" issue. I just noticed it, I am not  sure if it was after a certain update.
How can it be normal to constantly be blinking like that, without stop? The gif is inaccurate because it's actually really fast. It really flickers with a high frequency, the framerate of a gif is too low to captur

I am experiencing the same problem. It started happening sometime after upgrading to Windows 8.1 Update 1 or Office 2013 SP1, not sure which, and resolving some long-outstanding upload errors. It blinks very quickly for me too, and never stops.

I am experiencing a similar problem, however it also seem to affect the right mouse-click context menus for OneDrive content in Windows Explorer. At times those menus just disappear, making it impossible to use any of them. I didn't see this in any other location on my directory tree which is why I assume it is OneDrive related.

I've had this issue before too. The easiest solution for me was to reset the SkyDrive cache.

Type in to cmd: skydrive.exe /reset

The full trouble shooting is here, Thanks to [Dan T on answers.microsoft.com]

It worked for me! Thank you very much!

The flashing icon was eating up 6% of the processor too. All solved now.

This one worked for me too. Thanks RandomClown

Note that another symptom is that you can't use any of the options in the right-click popup menu on any file.

I had the same problem, think it started when I added an NTFS junction point into the skydrive folder. When I removed the directory junction the OneDrive icon seems to behave like normal. I think it was able to sync the whole time but Im guessing that the sync app was caught in an infinite loop following the junction point. Can anybody else replicate this behaviour?

Have this problem as well. Starting occurring a few days ago. When this is happening, the SkyDrive process also uses large amounts of processor time, 15%+.

If I pause and unpause syncing, it stops blinking and behaves normally for a short while before starting it again.

This flashing and high cpu usage is not normal behaviour.

Another thing I have noticed is that when logging in to my system, it takes a long time. This happens on all my systems that use an online account. This also is not normal behaviour and started happening around the same time.
