Made hardware changes and re-installed windows xp. Everytime I boot up the computer now, windows wants a password. Then I have to pick a user. I am the only one using my computer.Can I stop this or change anything?I'm not locked out of my computer. Now I do have to sit here and click certain things I did not before, instead of just turning on the computer and it procedes to get to the desktop.1 person got this answerI do too

Thank you. Another thing: When I go into control panel and user accoutns: There is an account there I don't remember creating. I think it had to do witha windows update. It says ASP.NET Machine A... Limited Account, password protected. Can I explore this account as an administrator? I don't know what it is and want to delete it.

Hi Brian.This problem with the log in is linked to your Task Manager problem. Your welcome screen is disabled. As for the ASP.NET account it is nothing to worry about. I have this same account on my machine and it has never been accessed by anything. It is linked to a series of applications that allow developers to create and manage dynamic web sites and probably originated from a service pack or MS update.
