Offline mode and FNS
Hello, I just setup a conection with a NFS server and activate offline mode into sync center but I do not have any 'offline' feature appearing on right-click menu on any item of this network drive. In fact I do not have the option available for any of my network drive or USB device. Is there anything else I missed ? or I have to check ? thx, Laurent

Hi Laurent, I would like to verify if the computer is in domain. If so, the related GPO will block this feature. Also check the following policies and Offline Files service on Windows 7. Check Offline Files service ---------------------------------------- 1. Click Start, type Services.msc in Start Search bar, and then press Enter. 2. In the right pane, double-click Offline Files. 3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, click Apply, click Start, and then click OK. 4. Restart the computer. Open gpedit.msc ------------------------- Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Network -> Offline Files -> if Remove 'Make Available Offline' is enabled User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Network -> Offline Files -> if Remove 'Make Available Offline' is enabled Best Regards, Niki Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi Laurent, Don't configure any group policy. Now please check the properties of the NFS share. Right click the shared folder -> Properties -> Sharing tab -> Advanced Sharing button -> Caching button -> verity the option. Hi Niki, I'm not using a windows server to share NFS, but a NetApp. All cache are disabled, no writeback, and synchronous mode is used. I also have full rwx on all directory and files. best regards, Laurent

Hi Laurent, I am sorry to say there is a limitation in Windows 7 where we can index the network shares only when we have client side caching enabled.
