Offline files not synching in real time, only after reboot in Windows 7
0I am running Windows 7, and I have made a couple of network folders available offline. I am online, and I create a new document in one of the folders I have set to sync, and when I go into Outlook to attach the file, it is not there. I try synching via sync center, and I get the successful sync message, but the file/s are still not available. I reboot the machine, and the sync center says there are some error, and when I check, the files I have created have not synched, but I am able to sync them by clicking on the file and resolving the issue. I have tried clearing out my cache of offline files, I have deleted all my offline files and resynched everything again, and I have even gone as far as manually deleting all offline files, but nothing has seemed to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I ran into a similar problem a while back, hes how I resolved the problem. Delete the offline files via the sync center Copy the following into note pad: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSC\Parameters] "FormatDatabase"=dword:00000001 rename it 'Win7 Offline files clear.reg' or some such.reg file and run, this will clear out the registy side of your offline file, once imported into the registry reboot your machine. Re -'Always availbale offline' ensure your machine does not go into standby, hibernation or anything as it runs through the first sync. Ensure you make a backup of your registry before running any *.reg file

Also ensure that your sync center schedule that no option is set to stop the sync and that it set to sync only when 'awake' under the event options

Hi Cygnus-X1, I tried the above reg change after I had cleaned out the offline files, but it hasn't made any difference. Thanks for trying though.

Hi, Please obtain the following KB: The icon of an offline file that you changed in offline mode always indicates that synchronization is successful even when the synchronization fails on a client computer that is running Windows 7 Best Regards Dale Qiao TechNet Subscriber Support in forum.
