Offline domain logon with cached credentials not working in Windows 7 Pro
Although cached credentials are set (tried 10, 25, 50) in GPO I'm not able to logon when the PDC is offline. On logon attempt I get the message that the logon service is not available. My laptop is Asus Eee with Windows 7 Professional. Any ideas?

Have you at least performed one succesful logon with this WinPro system prior to enabling the new GPO?

Hi, does the issue occurs with all Windows 7 machines in domain or a specific machine? If the issue occurs with all Windows 7 machines, this inquiry would best be posted to Windows Server forum: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windowsserver The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Thank you for your understanding. Anymore, you can try to delete the cached credential, re-join the domain and create a new one.

Yes, logon works good when domain is available. Including working roaming profiles. The problem is in the Offline domain logon. Also a new test account does not allow for Offline logon. Since Offline logon is handled by client and the credentials are stored on the client this should not be a server problem. Any suggestions to test/change? Thanks!

How to delete cached credentials?

"Since Offline logon is handled by client and the credentials are stored on the client this should not be a server problem." Assuming the policy is being applied correctly, yes it would be a client issue, but the policy starts with the server & therefore it makes sense to at least rule that out and work with the server forum. Can you run GPRESULT from the cmd to verify the Resultant Set of Policy & that indeed the policy controlling cached logons is being applied to the machine in question? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc758010(WS.10).aspx
