Offline HELP does not work
Windows help stopped working. I'm pretty sure it was okay after I upgraded from Win Vista to Win 7 Home Premium, but yesterday I noticed that it wasn't working. I get different errors depending on where I press F1, but none of them bring up anything remotely help-ish. Start -> Help & Support: __elbasuer__ To send files to Microsoft SpyNet Solitaire: Topic not found. Calculator: What information appears in event logs (Event Viewer)? __elbasuer__ Paint: Getting help __elbasuer__ [Actually, MS-Office Help still works, but the OS help is all messed up] I have looked for the key: BCRM_Bluetooth_Help here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Assistance\C lient\1.0\Namespaces\OEM\en-US\Topics and here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Assistance\C lient\1.0\Namespaces\OEM\en-US\Titles but it is not there. I tried removing the key that is there: hp.npc.prjSolutions_en-US to no avail. This computer never had the Win7 RC installed on it, so I know that's not the problem. Please advise. Thanks,

Hi, First of all, you said the problem existed recently, so I suggest you to do a system restore to the point when the problem hasn’t existed. If you can’t take a system restore, you can try the following methods. 1. you can create a new account to see whether the issue still persists. If the issue disappeared, you can refer to the following address to fix the profile. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile 2. Take a clean boot. You can refer to this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we can enable half of the total disabled startup and services each time to see what service disturb your program. 3. Perform a SFC scan. 1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow 2. Type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow A message will appear stating that 'The system scan will begin'. Be patient because the scan may take some time 3. If any files require a replace SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Win7 DVD for this process to continue 4. If everything is okay you should, after the scan, see the following message "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations" 5. After the scan has completed, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check. Check the below mentioned link for further guidance on SFC scan - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833 If you have some other problems, please post here.
