Offline Files Sync Issue
I have Windows 7 syncing with a particular network folder containing about 30gb of files. I do this for one reason - so that my local computer will index those files for searching. In any event, I'm having a problem when the syncing fails - apparently because it has lost contact with the network computer. After this one failed sync, no further syncing takes place, and it must be restarted manually. Is this the way it's supposed to work? The network computer will go down occasionally, but I would like syncing to continue as soon as it is back up. Is there anything that can be done, or do I have to constantly monitor this? I see no way to set a sync schedule. Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks for the reply. I've got a couple of questions about how this works. 1. What is the default sync schedule? It appears that it does try to sync periodically on its own even without establishing a schedule. 2. I'm puzzled by the errors that I'm getting. When I look at the errors in sync center, I see where I manually started the sync, then it shows 2 files that did not sync because they could not be accessed. Then it shows "Sync Failed". I know there were files synced, but I can't tell why it failed, or whether there were files left unsynced. Is there some way to figure this out? Thanks.

Hello,Question 1:1. Anytime you reconnect to that network folder, Windows syncs the files with those in the network folder. 2. If you are working offline and make changes to offline files from a network folder, Windows automatically syncs any changes you made to the files the next time you connect to that network folder. 3. If you are working offline while someone else changes a file in a shared network folder, Windows syncs those changes with the offline file on your computer the next time you connect to that network folder. Question 2:As for the error message "Sync Failed", I suggest that you temporary remove the anti-virus, and disable the opened firewall. Then test if the issue persists. If so, check the permission settings of the map drive, set it to allow Everyone to access. Thomas77
