Offline Files - Always Slow connection
Hi, We use Offline Files for all of our laptops. Folders are redirected to DFS shares. Recently we have started to implement a VPN solution and have set the Slow Connection Group Policy setting and specified paths to the redirected folders with a throughput value of 700000. When connected via VPN it switches to Offline mode no problem and displays the (Slow Connection) beside the folders. However when connecting back to the LAN, It remains set to Offline and never transitions to Online unless manually told to do so. We are also having an issue where the machine will randomly lock up set to offline and trying to save a file. At this point you can't end explorer and have to physically reboot the machine (Its as if explorer panics and offline files is having a fit ??) Another issue we have started to see with profiles is that User Shell Folders and Shell folders keys are missing in some users registry hives Does anyone know why we would be having these issues?

Hi, Will this occurs to all of your laptops including the lock up issue? In case it is due to conflict with certain third party software, it is suggested to prepare clean boot to troubleshoot: Http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 Regards, Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
