Offine Files - Slow Link
Hi, I'm looking at synchronizing some folders by only using the built-in features of win7 pro. To give more details, below a simple context / requirement list: I have 2 computers (say PC1,PC2) both running win7 pro with the following features: - PC1 has 2 shared folders (F1,F2) - F1 is "available offline" for PC2, not F2. F2 is accessible for PC2 (R/W/Execute) Requirement: I have the following requirement for the "available offline" folder in case both PCs are online and see each other: - On PC2, The files of F1 are locally opened or executed, i.e. PC2 will open the local copy of a file located in F1 or execute it instead of the one located on PC1 - When copying a file to the available "offline folder" F1, the file will be locally copied first, and then synchronized with PC1 only (background task for instance triggered later). For the "non available offline" folder, I shall be able to do my stuffs in it (i.e. it should be visible / accessible from PC2) Issue: I don't get the right result when using slow-link mode and some particular latency parameters. More specifically, when slow-link mode is triggered I get what I want for F1 BUT F2 is not accessible anymore (this was already posted somewhere....). I'd like to avoid "wrapping" F1 into a separate remote drive and configure the slow-link mode for such (the actual configuration I have is more complicated than the one presented above....) Directly accessing the CSC folder (clear structure for win7) seems not be the solution since taking ownership to such folder to get access to its content makes the "offline feature" be permanently disabled .... Do you have any idea about how to simply achieve what I want without using any third-party software ? Thanks for your help.

Hi, I assume that this can not be achieved by default. But I have a solution can be the work round for you. You may enable online in the Sycn Center when you want to access the network files which have not be enabled offline function in slow link environment. Thanks for the understanding. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
