Offile files (CSC) cache corruption
Dear experts: This is the second time that offline files "dissappear" due to cache corruption. The user is using a notebook with Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bits, with offline files stored in c:\windows\csc. When this happens I have to re-intialize the cache of offline files, connect the notebook to the network (fileserver is a Windows Server 2008 R2) and resync again. When the user is off-site he logs to the notebook with the cached domain credentials. I have some questions: What happens if the domain administrator logs to the notebook with his cached credentials? Can this trigger the cache corruption? (the domain administrator does not have offline files configured)Can a notebook be used by two different users who have offline files configured? The user has around 10 Gigabytes of data. If I search the properties of the CSC folder, should I see 10 Gigabytes of data?. (the offlines files are not encrypted). Thank you very much, Mr.Clinker Uruguay - South America.

Hi, Maybe the reboot trigger the cache corruption rather than the domain administrator log on. Of course, a notebook can be used by several different users who have offline files configured. It depends on the offline folders and sync offline files settings. Structure of the Offline Files Cache Folder http://support.microsoft.com/kb/230739Ivan-Liu TechNet Community Support
