Office Live add-in 1.5 failed to intall on Windows Update
Installed OS: Windows 7, Office Home & Student plus Office 2010 Beta. The OS was first activated December 2009.
The update "Office live add-in 1.5" failed to install during the 26 May 2010 Microsoft update session. I have attempted tro install this update on a number of occasions since the initial failure. I recovered the computer to point just prior
to the MS update session but problem persists. Next I ran the procedure recommended in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/KB976982 "When installing.NET Framework updates using Windows update", this document recommends; 1. Downloadb .Net Cleanup Utility from http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/attachment/8904493.ashx
(this page has been removed and no longer available) 2. uninstall .Net framework 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5.
How can I resolve this problem?

Hi,
According to the Download center information, Office live add-in 1.5 does not apply to Office 2.10 beta. You will find the information here:

Hi Vivian,
I see from the quoted posts that 'Office Live add-in' is not part of Office 2010 Beta but I also have Office 2007 Home & Student installed. With previous versions of Windows (eg. XP & 95) it was possible to cancel updates via the
'customise download' option. With Window7 this option is no longer available, how can I remove this "Office Line add-in 1.5" update from my "New Updates are Available" window?

Hi Vivian,
That doesn't seem to work. I don't consider myself a Windows expert but I have been using Windows since version "Windows 386", therefore not a complete novice. I find that Windows 7 is the most user
UNFRIENDLY version yet published.

Hi Vivian,
Oooopsiii Sorry but you recommendation was correct, I just didn't completely understand your instructions. This doesn't detract from my opinion that Windows 7 is the least user friendly since Wiindows Chicago (Windows 95 beta).
