Office Communicator Status in Outlook
Hi, I have been havingthis issue with a number of users. Outlook states a different status to the OC client for example Outlook will show a yellow circle next to the user but in OC the user is green. We have no outlook integration errors.

Closing outlook and opening it again resolves the issue. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Keith,

Try a different computer with the same account.
Then you can verify if isa local problem with your PC or a configuration issue.

Hi Keith,
Any update for your issue?
You can try J's suggestion.
And I want to verify something about your scenario, what version of you OCS?
Does all the user have the same issue?
Does the always happen at any time?
What scenario does the issue usuallyhappen?
I havemade some test, and cannot reproduce the issue. :-(
I suggest that you should update the oc and oulook with the latest kb.

Thanks for the responses.

It would appear that outlook is not updating with the status in OC, this is only happening on the users machine. Checking the status in oc and outlook from another machine works fine.

Change status from available to busy in oc, outlook will show statusas available. close outlook and open it again status will go to busy.

Thanks

hi
Maybe some issue with the outlook configuration profile or the system.
Per your description, other users work fine, and the problem clientcannot sync the status from the oc status.
I think you can create a new oulook configuration profile, it will be ok.

I had this problem with my own account on a newly buil machine. I resolved it by deleting my profile. My Computer, properties, advanced, User profiles-settings. Log on to recreate the profile.

Recreating the outlook profile could solve this issue, but...

Be aware, that you should exit OC before removing and (re-)creating a new OUTLOOK profile!

You can check if OC is still running in the taskmanager ([Ctrl]+[Shift]+[Esc]).

Look for communicator.exe
