Odd error shortly after start up Generic Win32 proccess
This recently began and is starting to get annoying for me.An error popup warning appears (as if when IE encounters a problem and needs to close) only in this case it is "Generic Win 32 Proccess has encountered a problem and needs to close" I click on 'don't send' because it only causes my computer to lock up on me (256 ram, go figure). Once I click it, it disconnects me from IRC, the internet as a whole, and resets everything on my theme (WinXP default blue) to Win2K appearance for about five minutes.I do not know exactly what it means, but it recently began and is driving me nuts. So I wonder, what exactly is Generic Proccess Win32 ?My Operating System is Win XP Home ed. With a Celeron D 3.24 GHz CPU and 256 ram. I am actually more curious to what the proccess itself is, and what it controls over anything else. Thanks

For one thing, windows updates, and updates.microsoft.com give me the following...."The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view"This is when I try to update, (I had to do a system restore to get my computer under my personal control from a nasty virus, and apparently it still is not under my personal control) I would like to know why it is giving me this problem and how I can get around it?

Hi,Step 1: Run a virus scan. You can do a PC Safety scan by clicking on the link http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm and Clicking on the Full Service scan and accept the Agreement. For that error you may follow the steps from “Error message when you try to install updates from the Windows Update Web site on a Windows XP-based computer: "Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested page"” http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914226/en-us “You receive a "0x800A01AE" error message or a "0x080070570" error message when you try to connect to the Windows Update Web page or to the Microsoft Update Web page in Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP” http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910359 DianaMicrosoft Answers Support EngineerVisit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think. If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message.
