Your subject says Outlook Express, but the question says Outlook. These are two different programs, so which is it? Does Answer = Reply? Define Fails. Please elaborate a little more. What happens, and does everything else work? Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]

Sorry it is Outlook Express. As I was going to ask a question in one of my forums tonight and tried to reply to the sender; Outlook Express window opened for me to email in. I typed my responed to them, hit send and it came back ERROR: connections to the server, etc.

Is it a news forum, or newsgroup (Usenet)? Does regular e-mail work OK? Can you copy & paste the error message in this thread? We need the entire error message to understand it. Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]

What is the name of the newsgroup? Since you're trying to post to it via Outlook Express, can I assume it is a newsgroup (Usenet) and not a forum like this one? Do you have a news account and is your access to the newsgroup in the OE folder tree? If so, has this ever worked? Most news servers use SMTP port 119. Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]
