OS issues
I have Windows 7 Ent x64 SP1 Presumably I had some sort of malicious software on the machine last week. The computer is clean with any scanner I run but I still have some issues. Attempting to Run NSLOOKUP produces error "The ordinal 1108 could not be located in the dynamic link library WSOCK32.dll. I replaced WSOCK32.dll from a known working machine (same OS) with no change. If I run netsh winsock reset, I see error "the following helper DLL cannot be loaded: WSHELPER.DLL" then "the following command was not found: winsock reset" I have already run sfc /scannow. and I attempted a repair install of the OS but since I have installed SP1 it does not want to run. Thanks

Hi, Thanks for the post. Could you please advise the following questions? 1. Whether you receive any error messages when you run the sfc/scannow. 2. Did you run the command above with elevated Command Prompt? 3. Does Repair Install mean that you want to try the In-place upgrade? In addition, I suggest you to follow the article below to run SFC command and analyse the log. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228 If it still does not work, you may try the In-place upgrade, if you receive any errors, please post it back.
