OCS 2007: DB Corrupt after installing MS-Patchs and reboot

Hi

We had at second time in the last 3 months a Problem with the OCS (1x FE,1xMediation, SQL 2005 SP4). There were "corrupted" and I need to restore.

http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/f5681779-75cc-4c6b-8c0d-4aa8c1649b5b/ocs-2007-r2-with-sql-2005-database-mirroring-failover

In both case I install the monthly MS-Patches and do a reboot after that all Services works fine but the Users couldn't Logon at Communicator.

On the OCS Frontend Server i had only following error Log:

Source: OCS USer Services
Event-ID: 30962
Category: 1006
Connection to back-end database succeeded, but failed to execute registration stored procedure on the back-end. This error should not occur under normal operating conditions. Contact support services.

Back-end Server: ocs.sql\1209 Database: rtc Sql native error: 515 Connection string of:
driver={SQL Server};Trusted_Connection=yes;AutoTranslate=no;server=ocs.sql\1209;database=rtc;
Cause: Possible issues with back-end database.
Resolution:
Insure the back-end is functioning correctly.

We checked the DB-Permission -> http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/8b428bd3-0509-4859-ac11-122bdbef06cc/sql-server-permissions?forum=communicationsserversetup

8 month ago we moved the SQL 2005 DB's to an other Server (SQL 2005) but it works 4 month fine.

Is it necessary to stop all the OCS services before i reboot the Server - i did it never before?

Thx

Florian

are you running the OCS-dbupgrade.msi that comes with each hotfix / cumulative update. This is over and above the normal update that you install on the front end server. Also i have never seen manual stopping of service to update any specific component . MS updates are generally designed to stop the service and update the component and then start the service automatically.

If the guest user is disabled in the msdb database, you may get the problem.

Please check the KB below:

Hi

the KB2539091 I checked before.

We moved the DB from a SQL 2005 SP1 Backend to another SQL 2005 SP4 (?). Is an OCS-dbupgrade.msi in this case necessary?

We followed this Technet articel: http://blogs.technet.com/b/dodeitte/archive/2009/06/05/how-to-move-ocs-enterprise-sql-database-to-another-server.aspx
