Hi, I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and my event log is filled with Schannel EventIDs: (36871, 36887, 36888) errors. This error seems to be generated every few seconds. I searched the errors and only seem to be directed to answers that involve IIS. Clearly on a Win7 workstation I do not have IIS installed. Below is a copy of the latest 36887 error. I saw PID and looked it up on my system: PID 684 = EFS, Protected Storage, and SAMSs. Hi, Schannel error usually indicates this error was SSL/TLS problem. Schannel uses TLS for security encryption. As long as the sites you visit do not use TLS. I suggest to perform these steps below: 1. Open Internet Explorer. 2. Click Tools. 3. Click Internet Options. 4. Click Advanced tab. 5. Scroll down the list under Security, uncheck all the Use TLS options. 6. Click OK. Now restart the computer and check if the issue still occurs. If the issue still persists, then I suggest that you optimize the internet explorer settings on the computer.
