Which version of Windows 7 are you using ? I'm not sure about all versions, but Professional (and up obviously) support auditing. IMO that's the best way to achieve your goal. So in short: Select the properties of the folder you want to monitor.Go to the 'security' tab and select "advanced" at the bottom. Now you should have an "Audit" tab (its the 2nd tab, it could also be called access policies I guess). Here you can setup what you want to check, and for whom. So I could imagine setting up a read check ("Display folder / Read data") for the group "Everybody".You might also want to check writing options (create a folder or a file, etc.). Once you're done it will apply these settings to the folder and its child folders. And once all that's done you're covered. The actual access will be logged in the event logs. You can find these in the "sysadmin" folder to be found in the control panel (Control panel -> System & Security -> System administration"). You'll want the "securty" event log. note that this requires administrative privileges. Hope this helps! With kind regards, Peter
