Notification Area - Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media - Registry Keys
By default Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media is set to "Only Show notifications". We are looking for a way to set it too only "Show icon and Notifications" during our OSD process. I cant seem to find any associated registry keys which control the Notification area icons. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks Glen

Plug in a SD card or USB pen so that the icon will be showing in the notification area. Right-click on the Task Bar and pick Properties. Near the bottom, click on Customize. Near the bottom left of that page, uncheck "Always show icons and notifications on the taskbar." Set the properties nest to "Safely remove. . ." to what you want it to be, and then recheck the box next to "Always show. . ." Is that what you want to do? If you are only looking for a registry change, then you can get numerous registry snapshot programs that may help you out. SC Tom

The way to configure the notificatons is to set your Notifications icons, then export the following keys HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify] "PastIconsStream"= "IconStreams"= Delete the existing keys on a machine that you want to modify, import the keys from the previous step, stop and restart explorer process. If you want to configure via OSD Task Sequence, use GPP to inject those keys and set the GPP to replace, so it deletes the key and creates the new ones, Glen
