Not allowed access to folder (D: drive) to save a document from Word 2003.____Thanks so much!
Working on a Toshiba Satellite A105 in Word 2003 - Student/Home Version. When I try to save my document to a disk I get two messages: one says that it is a function error and the olther that I don't have permission to access that folder. I am the administrator and sole user of this computer. What do I need to do to have access to folder D: (CD drive) so that I can save from Word 2003 document? I don't understand enough about 'function' or 'permission' problems, (pretty much nothing at all),to attempt anything on my own. Please reply in layman's terms and be specific as to the steps I need to follow.I'm really frustrated! I'd appreciate any help out there.Thanks.1 person needs an answerI do too

You can't save directly to a CD-ROM drive. Save your document to your My Documents folder first. Then if you want to burn the file to a CD-R, you will need a CD-RW drive. If you have one, then you probably have burning software already on the computer (Roxio, Sonic, Nero, etc.). Or you can use XP's built-in burning capability.
