Not able to share my folder with Windows XP computer from Windows Vista
Hi, I have installed Windows Vista Home Premium on my latop which is connected to a Wirless router. I have got another Laptop with Windows XP Proff SP2 which is again connected to the Router. I tried my level best to share the folders mutually between computers. But at the end, From Windows XP, I can see Windows Vista computer and I can see the folders that are shared in Vista from XP. But from Vista, I'm not able to share or connect to XP. Also when I tried copying a file from Vista to XP from XP, the speed was very low, it take 120 mins to copy a 1 MB file. Both can ping each other with our packet loss and both can access internet simultaneously with out any issue. Please help me. Shriram

Do you have sp1 on the vista machine, do you have file sharing enabled on both machines, is ipv6 turned off, and are you using any kind of firewall other than windows firewall?also make sure the computers are in the same workgroup, and the network type is set to private in windows vistaIf you have sp1, have file sharing enabled, have ipv6 turned off and have what ever firewall you are using configure correctly and it still doesn't work give this program a try. http://www.reviewingit.com/index.php/content/view/61/1/Instructions are on the reviewingit webpage. Make sure to grab the most recent version. And make sure to run it as the administrator on windows vista.

Install this LLTD tool in XP if you have not done yet. Please also check any firewalls (antivirus firewall, Windows firewall, ZoneAlarm, etc) enabled in XP, maybe there is firewall blocking on file sharing. In case of file sharing, ensure you have enable simple file sharing or share file with user/group permission correctly in XP.
