Not able to change the description name in Windows Backup.
Original Title: backup name.Why wont microsoft backup accept description name I give it?

Lets say that I enter "PC Win backup" as a dscriptor, It tells me "not a valid bks" nameIt will not take ANY name as validI am running XP Pro SP3 on a Dell dimension 8300Thank YouGermain R.

Hi Germain,What is the complete error message you receive?You may try to change the backup destination to some other location. Thereafter, change the description name in Windows Backup and check if it works.Hope the information helps. HiHere is the complete messageI get "The backup file name cannot beused "D:\my backup", Please make sure it is a valid path and that you have sufficient access"I get the same message if I try to pick drive "A" as a destination, There is no access problem on my system since I am the sole operator and am registered as administrator Germain R.

Hi Roger,In Windows Backup wizard, it should ask for two names. The extension should always be .BFK. You must enter two names for the backup. One to identify the backup operation itself (the job name) and another for the actual .BFK file that the backup creates (the backup name). Windows Backup remembers the last names you used and displays them by default.Hope the information helps.
