Not able to access the internet
Norton Security Suite removed a virus from one of my systems. Now I cannot get access to the internet. I'm running XP Pro sp3.I checked the Network Connections properties. I previously had a fixed IP address which has now been changed to a Dynamic IP. Shouldn't be a problem except that my DHCP Server is not being recognized either (Server 2003). The DHCP Server had a reservation setup for the MAC of the affected computer. But, as long as I can apply an IP, I think it should work. After setting a fixed IP, XP required a reboot. After reboot, the fixed IP was gone and Dynamic IP was setup again.I can access the shared files on the other 5 computers on my network. When I bring up the command prompt and do an IPCONFIG, I get the following message: "An internal error occured: The operation completed sucessfully. Contact Microsoft Product Support for further help. Additional information: Unable to open registry key for tcpip."I went to the Registry Editor and opened HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>Current Control Set>Services>tcpip and didn't see a problem (though I'm no expert).I don't know where to go from here. Meanwhile, my email is stacking up and clients want answers to questions I haven't seen yet. Can someone help?
