Not WinFS yet?
Hi,Is WinFS not to be supported (again) in this new version of Windows?Don't you think the 'old good' NTFS needs perhaps a substitute, or at least a "revision"?Greetings

Hi Pablo I haven't heard anything about WinFS on Windows 7, but it is very doubtful that this will be a part of this version. Hope this helps. Ronnie Vernon MVP

OK, thanks Ronnie...But what I'd really want to know is, what happened with the whole WinFS thing. Since it was cut off from Vista (still in beta stages), i've never seen or heard or read about it again, nowhere. And i believe that it was something that could have made the Windows platform still better and stronger.Greetings and thanks again

The feature was scrapped before Vista went beta (but after it was announced unfortunately) for a number of reasons. It wasn't on the map for 7.If it's of any consolation, WinFS was always just an extra abstraction layer on NTFS. The current indexer improvements accomplish many of the things intended by it.
