Norton Internet Security 2009 kills network access
When installing Windows 7, it first doesn't recognize my Network Adapter.Installing the ULI Integrated Driver Package 2.20, I first get an error message ( "OS not supprot!"(sic) ), then I get asked to install with recommended/compatibility settings, and it works. After entering my IP, Gateway, Subnet and DNS, Internet access works fine. When I install Norton Internet Security 2009 then, after the next reboot (not after installation of NIS and before the reboot!) Network access is restricted, I can't ping my gateway anymore, and Internet access of course doesn't work as well because of that.Deinstallation of Norton Internet Security 2009, then rebooting, solves the problem and I can access the Local Network and the Internet again. Is this a compatibility issue between Norton Internet Security 2009 and Windows 7, and is there a way to fix it manually?

Hm... Consider asking Norton about this. Since this is a beta-release, I wouldn't count on them supporting it.

Yes I heard people saying that Symantec refuses to support Windows 7 at the moment, which appears to me quite foolish. However, I guess it could help if Microsoft would approach Symantec as well, working with them and other Antivirus/Firewall Software Companies who are reported to have problems with Windows 7. I sent an email to mailto:pse_support@symantec.com?subject=Programs_Non_Connectivityand would like to ask anyone who is experiencing this issue to do the same.

Temporary workaround:Use Norton 360 V3 Beta. The Trial currently lasts only 7 days though.Download Link: http://www.symantec.com/norton/beta/overview.jsp?pvid=n3603betaNorton 360 Public Beta Forum: http://community.norton.com/norton/board?board.id=N360_PBSymantec Windows 7 Beta Forum: http://community.norton.com/norton/board?board.id=Win7Beta

Yes it only last 7 days after you install Norton360 v3.0 but if you check you can get that extended to 30days if you go into my account in Nortons and there is a spot that is renew Subscription. Follow the instructions and it will extend it for you. Have done this two times now. They allow it because it is a beta.

Found my Beta Key in the mail. You have to create a new Norton Account (can be on the sameemail as your original one) asthey are using a different Database for the Beta: https://www.mynortonaccount.com/amsweb_beta/default.do
