Norton Anti Virus 2007 won't install on Vista
Ok, this isn't for me but for someone else. I'm waiting for at least SP1 before I buy Vista. A friend from work has bought a new computer and had Vista installed, he also bought Nortons Anti Virus 2007 to install on his system. The problem he is having is that it comes up with errors just loading the disk and trying to install the application. He has downloaded a patch from Microsoft but this isn't allowing the AV to install either. Has anybody else had this problem, or know of someone that has and has been able to rectify it? It states on the Symantec web site that AV 2007 is Vista compatible, so why would there be any hassles to begin with. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Have you heard back about this problem. I subscribed to Norton with Windows XP and recently got a new computer. Now my subscription with Norton says it is not compatible. Ugh

No he is going to get someone to come around and try and install it. I suggested he try it on someone elses computer in case there is a fault with the disk (burn) etc but to date I don't think he has done that. From reading on the net there certainly seems to be a lot of faults with Vista. It seems rediculous that your subscription is not compatible because you got a new computer which I'm guessing you had Vist put on. Considering there were a lot of delays with the launch of Vista it is pathetic of Microsoft to have so many faults and errors.
