Installed suggested 360 beta, extremely sluggish, as well gadgets removed from desktop by this install and could not open Gadget link. Restored to original install and installed Norton Internet security 2009. No issues and no compatability problems

I would check your action center. From what i know of NIS 2009 and Windows 7 only the Anti-Virus part is fully working. the rest of the Suite does not run. There are other solutions available.
