Norton 360
I have Windows 7 and am just curious why Norton 360 seems to be incompatible with the system? Is there any other type of Internet Security that is compatible with Windows 7?

Hi,Here is the link to the security page for Windows 7.http://www.microsoft.com/windows/antivirus-partners/windows-7.aspxIt doesn't list all the compatible security software. I use Avast 4.8 without issues. Others use Avira. My personal opinion: don't use Norton, it's too intrusive, and (not just my experience) either not stable with Windows 7, or not completely trustworthy. McAfee eats your RAM but does the job. There are quite some threads on this forum about security issues; have a look at them.RegardsRem

Norton 360 V3 is compatable, v2 and earlier aren't. Log in to your Norton account to check as they may offer you a free upgrade. The new betas, IS2010 and AV2010 also both run very stable with Win7 in my personal experience. There are a few here who take any opportunity to bash Symantec products, just as there are those who do to bash any Windows products. If you like Norton, are comfortable with it, use it. If you find something you like better, use it. Make your own choice, and take time to be well informed on all of them. The link provided is full of good choices that are all tested for reliability, including Norton BTW. I personally am testing most of them now on various platforms just to stay informed.I will say this much in favor of either the Norton or McAfee suites, for the average computer user they are the easiest and most frequently up to date choices to install and forget. Power users, gamers and techs see it a bit differently, but the average user isn't constantly tweaking and fiddling and costumizing settings. That can be done with the big (and both are huge compared to stand-alone AV programs) suites, but not as easily as with some of the smaller programs.Look also at longetivity. In 10 years is your AV programs company going to still be updating virus and malware defs, or even in 2? Symantec, McAfee, AVG and a very few others have been around long enough to depend on already, but judge the quality of the newer ones as a likely indication of where they'll be later.Just my opinion. Make yer own.
