Normal user cannot print to USB printer
This may belong under hardware but I feel it's more of a rights issue than a hardware issue. I'm trying to setup a user so he can print to a usb printer using a regular (limited) user account. The printer is directly connected to the system running XP Pro via USB. The user can print if he's a member of the administrator group but as soon as he's demoted to a limited user, he gets an error "cannot open port" when he tries to print. The printer manufacturer claims the only way is to grant the user administrator rights but I really don't want to do that. I don't mind changing the rights to specific registry keys or files/folder but really don't want to grant full admin rights to the user. Is there a way to do this?1 person needs an answerI do too
