Non-technical question - Windows 7 Backgrounds
Hello,I have a question that's kind of off the wall. :) I'm just curious to know what the possibility of getting one of my photos included in the Windows 7 RTM Release would be. I am a hobbyist photographer on the side, and have a couple of pictures that I think would compliment the existing (and amazing)artwork.I am not interested in any compensation for this whatsoever, other than the simple gratification of knowing my personal efforts benefitted the Windows 7 release in a small way :)Thanks!Trevor SullivanSystems EngineerOfficeMax Corporation Trevor Sullivan Systems Engineer OfficeMax Corporation

Ronnie,That link takes me to a generic help & support page. That isn't exactly what I'm looking for.Are you suggesting that the Windows 7 development team is not open to external photos for submission into the final product?Trevor SullivanSystems EngineerOfficeMax CorporationTrevor Sullivan Systems Engineer OfficeMax Corporation

Hi TrevorSorry, wrong link. The quickest way to get to thedepartment at Microsoft that can tell you how to submitnew contentfor inclusionin Windows 7 is to use the telephone. Microsoft Customer Service:1-800-Microsoft (642-7676)They will be able to direct you to the proper department that handlesthese requests. Are you suggesting that the Windows 7 development team is not open to external photos for submission into the final product? The development team does not deal directly withthird party content submissionssuch as you are describing. There is a very complex approval process for this type of content before it gets to the developers. If you just want to make your photographs available to users to download and use for wallpaper, you can post them on any one of a hundred different third party wallpaper websites, or simply post them on your ownfile sharingwebsite such as Skydrive or someplace similar.Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP

Thanks Ronnie. I could understand why there would be a complex approval process.I was just thinking it would be cool if there was a way to submit artwork into the final product :)Trevor SullivanSystems EngineerOfficeMax CorporationTrevor Sullivan Systems Engineer OfficeMax Corporation

Hi TrevorThis is possible. However, it's probably too late to get anything included in Windows 7.If you are interested in submitting something for a future product, I would suggest that you start now and get your name on their lists.Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP
