No wireless network adapters are working!
I have bought three different adapters for my Dell Inspiron 546 computer, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit OS, with Service Pack 1. I have a router downstairs, a Linksys Wireless-G router WRT54G. It all started like this: I was using a Linksys AE1000 Wireless-N Adapter, it was working fine at the start. One day, I opened Firefox and it came to a screen that said "Server not found." I tried Google Chrome, with a similar result. I checked to make sure there wasn't anything wrong in my homepage's URL, and it was correct. I typed in a separate site to make sure it wasn't just my homepage, that also came to the same screen. I checked my network connection and it said I was connected to the Linksys router mentioned earlier, and it said i had Internet access. I went to the Network and sharing center and between the picture of the adapter (center) and the picture of the globe (right), I saw grey line with a red X through it. I tried to troubleshoot, but nothing came up. I tried plugging the adapter into every USB port, with and without the cord that came with the adapter. Every port, same result. I checked the Internet on another computer, which is connected to the router, and the Internet was working fine on it... Eventually, I unplugged the router and modem to see if it would effect my computer in any way. It didn't. I decided to try a different adapter, a Netgear WNA3100 Wireless-N Adapter, I returned that one the next day because its software wouldn't even install the adapter. Now, I'm on my third, a Balkin N600 DB Wireless Dual-Band USB Adapter. Everything has installed correctly, but for some reason, I cannot enable it. My computer does see the adapter, it is in the menu at the Manage Adapter Settings window and the device manager, but for some reason, i cannot enable it. For giggles, I did a troubleshoot on it. It found that Windows has detected a hardware or driver problem with my wireless adapter. I tried to update the adapter, but it says it is up-to-date. after seeing this, i tried doing the same for my Linksys AE1000, with the same result, i tried the same thing and the same thing happened. The Linksys, just like before, says I have access, but I still get the "Server not found" screen. When I go in to the properties window on my adapters, they all say they are working properly. At this point, I don't know if i should shovel more money into another adapter, or if it is fixable. Out of all computers, my computer is the only one with this problem. The computer with the router is using Windows XP, one is using Ubuntu, one is using Windows XP, and I'm using Windows 7. If worse comes to worse, try to give me the most wallet-friendly solution please. I would love a solution relatively soon, I use my computer quite a lot. Thanks for listening!

Hi, Please make sure the drivers are installed properly for these adapters. Meantime, please check whether WLAN service is running. If not, to start it manually. This should be a driver issue. If it still persists, please try to contact manufacturer for assistance. Without correct wireless card drivers, the operating system would not understand the codes generated by the components when they are in use. Any issues with the wireless drivers would affect the functioning of the wireless network cards. Check the wireless drivers installed on the system using device manager. And, if the drivers have some issues or they are incompatible or outdated, the drivers would have to be replaced with suitable and updated versions.
