No wireless client installed?!?
I just reinstalled Windows XP on my notebook from scratch including all drivers provided on the Lenovo website, but somehow the network client have not been installed. I have verified that the drivers are installed. Ethernet is working and i can connect to my router. The Wireless LED in blinking, but when I go to Start/Settings/Network Connections there is no entry at all: not for local LAN and not for a wireless connection. I suspect that somehow the network support was not installed correctly. I have downloaded and installed all Windows Updates and Service Packs ...2 people need an answerI do too

HiIt usually means that the drivers did not install correctly. Some Laptops have few options of different make of Network cards, make sure that you download the drivers that correspond with the cards that you have.Maybe this can Help too , http://www.ezlan.net/wireless.html Jack MVP-Networking. You need a driver for the wireless card. If this were absent, the entry in Device Manager would show it as a fault. You also need a wireless connection manager. You have two options here, to use one supplied by the card manufacturer, or to use Windows' own wireless service. To start the latter, run services.msc and select the "Wireless zero configuration" service. Start it, if it is not already running. If you want the wireless to connect on startup, set this service to automatic startup. When this service is running you should have an extra (middle) tab on the wireless card properties, listing available networks.
